Critical Rate

Critical Rate is your chance to land critical hits. Every character starts with a base Critical Rate of 5%.

Your Critical Rate is limited by Max Critical Rate, so any Critical Rate above that cap does not increase your crit chance by itself. Both your Critical Rate and Max Critical Rate can reach values above 100%.

After the Max. Critical Rate cap is applied, enemy Resist Critical Rate can reduce your final crit chance. Your Ignore Resist Critical Rate counters that resistance, but only up to 0% remaining resistance. Ignore Resist Critical Rate can not reduce Resist Critical rate below 0 but Enemy Resist Critical Rate can reduce your own Critical Rate below 0.

At 0% or below, the attack cannot crit. At 100% or higher, it is guaranteed to crit, and going above 100% gives no extra benefit.

Calculation Order

1. Add your normal Critical Rate and the active PvE or PvP Critical Rate variant.
2. Cap that value by your active Max Critical Rate.
3. Subtract your Ignore Resist Critical Rate from the target's Resist Critical Rate.
4. Subtract any remaining Resist Critical Rate from your capped Critical Rate.

The important detail is that resistance is applied after the Max Critical Rate cap. A target with enough remaining Resist Critical Rate can reduce your final crit chance to 0%, even if your displayed Critical Rate is much higher.

Notes and Tips

• Works With Critical Damage: Critical Rate matters more when you also have strong Critical Damage
• Max Crit Rate Matters: Extra Critical Rate above your Max Critical Rate does nothing until you raise the cap as well
• Resistance Applies After the Cap: Enemy resistance lowers your already-capped crit chance
• Ignore Resist Has a Floor: Ignore Resist Critical Rate can reduce enemy resistance to 0%, but it does not turn excess ignore into extra Critical Rate
• Less Value Near the Cap: Extra Critical Rate becomes less useful once your final chance is already very high

Example

If you have:

• Critical Rate: 70%
• Max Critical Rate: 50%
• Enemy Resist Critical Rate: 20%
• Ignore Resist Critical Rate: 0%

Then:

• min(70, 50) = 50
• 50 - 20 = 30

Final Critical Rate: 30%
