Evasion

Evasion increases the chance to avoid incoming attacks entirely. It works against the attacker's Accuracy, and in practice attacks start getting evaded more often when Evasion is higher than the attacker's Accuracy. Evasion can raise evade chance up to 95%, but it cannot make a character impossible to hit by itself.

Enemy Ignore Evasion lowers the Evasion that actually matters in the hit check, while your Cancel Ignore Evasion helps protect that value.

How It Works

As a simple rule of thumb, every 100 points left over after the attacker's effective Accuracy and Ignore Evasion are subtracted is about 1% evade chance.

The result is capped between 0% and 95%, so Evasion can never make you impossible to hit by itself.

Examples:

  • If your Evasion is about 5,000 higher than the attacker's effective Accuracy and Ignore Evasion combined, that is roughly 50% evade chance.
  • If your Evasion is about 10,000 higher, it would reach the 95% cap instead of becoming 100%.
  • If the attacker has 6,000 effective Accuracy, 500 effective Ignore Evasion, and you have 10,000 Evasion, the remaining difference is 3,500, so the evade chance is roughly 35%.

This is only the evade part of the hit check. Blocks and other hit-chance mechanics are handled separately.

Sources

  • DEX and Base Stats: Dexterity provides Evasion in varying amounts depending on your class
  • Equipment: armor, accessories, epaulets, arcanas, brooches, costumes, and upgrade paths can provide Evasion
  • Progression Systems: Collection, Achievements, Artifacts, Honor Medal, Gold Merit, Platinum Merit, Myth Level, and Pets can provide Evasion
  • Class and Battle Systems: some Battle Modes and class passive skills add Evasion
  • Temporary Buffs: GM buffs and some temporary effects can add Evasion

Class-Specific Notes

  • Blader: offers highest evasion due to good DEX scaling and class specific passive skills
  • Target Class Modifier: When you are attacked as Blader or Force Blader, the attacker effectively gains +20% Accuracy in the hit check. As Gladiator, attackers gain +10% effective Accuracy. Other classes do not apply this bonus to attackers.
  • Works Best With Support Stats: Evasion becomes much better when you also have Ignore Accuracy or when the attacker lacks Ignore Evasion

Helpful Tool

If you want to estimate the actual result against a target, use the Hit Chance Calculator.

Formula

Effective Ignore Evasion after Cancel Ignore Evasion:

Effective Ignore Evasion = max(0, Ignore Evasion - Enemy Cancel Ignore Evasion)

Final Evade Chance formula:

Evade Chance = clamp(trunc(Evasion - Effective Ignore Evasion - Scaled Accuracy100), 0%, 95%)

Combined Hit Chance after Evade and Block:

Final Hit Chance = (100 - Evade Chance) × (100 - Block Chance)100
